Today has been another great day with our new daughter. Here are a few pics we took today.

On another note, we are still wiating for the state (both NJ and GA) to approve the adoption so we can fly home, and we found out today that the hospital is delaying that process a bit.

We should back at home by next Friday!!! It will be great to see Beau (our dog) meet Haven :)

Quick Update

Well it as been a busy 24 hours, but our first day as a family has been a "great success"!!

Haven decided last night that she wanted to stay up late, and didn't get in bed until around 1am. After that she was great. She slept until around 4, took a bottle, and then went right back to sleep.

She has been eating and sleeping, which I think is good:)

Jen, Haven, and I went our first ice cream date today to Brusters. For our New Jersey family...think Thomas Sweets, Roscoes, but a little bit better.

It has only been a little over 24 hours since we picked her up, and we can't imagine life without her already.

God, thank you for sending us this miracle. Thanks you for gracing us with Haven, and allowing us to be a part of her life. May we always surrender our children to you LORD, for your love for them surpasses our love for them. ~Selah

The wait is over!

We are typing this message while we are holding 8lbs of goodness. This morning went perfect. We got to meet our little girl at 11 this morning, when she was naked as a jaybird and ready for her first bath.

After lots of hugs and some paperwork she is officially ours and we are back at Grandma and Grandpas house.

Thanks for all of you prayers and support. Please continue to pray for us as we adjust to being a family of three.

Just a few hours now

Well we are here in Atlanta!! We arrived this afternoon on a 2:30 flight and went straight from the airport to meet with Haven's Birthmom.

Though we were on/off anxious about the meeting it went great! I will let Jen talk more about it later.

We did find out though that we have to wait until tomorrow to pick up our little girl. So it is 11pm Tuesday night and we will be with Haven in just a few short hours (if I can actually get some sleep). As soon as I can get some pictures with Jen and Haven and I, you will see them.

Thanks to all of you for your prayers and support. It has been overwhleming!

Here are a couple easter pictures we just received. We heard Haven slept right through the service, so she should fit in great at our church :)

She is almost here!!!!!!!!

The time has almost arrived to head down to Atlanta, GA to pick up our little girl. We are flying to Atlanta tomorrow, and will hopefully get to pick up Haven tomorrow evening.

This journey has been wonderful so far, and I imagine tomorrow will be the pinnacle.

I guess you can never be 100% ready, but I guess we are as close to ready as we will ever be.

Haven's First Pictures

These are hot of the press. We just received these tonight. These are taken when Haven was eight hours old.

Change is a coming!!

Jen and I found out yesterday morning that Haven is here. She was originally due on April 2nd, but she had other plans.

She was born Saturday morning around 5am, weighing 7lbs and 7oz, and 19 inches long. I was on the way to band practice when I got the call from "An Open Door", our adoption agency. They first asked for Jen, wanting to share the news with her first, but then spilled the beans.

I can't really describe the emotions I felt at that moment in time. Happy, Scared, Excited, Overwhlemed, Prepared, Unprepared.

We are hoping to get some pictures today of Haven at the hospital, and will share those as soon as we get them.
